Writing Task 2 Essay Planning

 Always spend 3-5 minutes before attempting writing task 2.

Planning helps smooth transition of ideas as your write your essay. 

A general outline of an essay plan would look something like shown below. 

(Note: This is just an example and you should use this instruction wisely depending on your writing skill)


Essay Plan

- Introduction
            - Paraphrase the question to the best of your ability
            - Write a clear thesis statement (Include ideas that you are going to present in your essay in few                    words).

- Body Paragraphs
            -Body 1:
                            - start with linking words (e.g. On the one hand, To begin with, etc.)
                            - you present your first idea (as written in thesis statement) 
                            - explain your ideas further
                            - use linkers to connect ideas within a paragraph as well
                            - cite examples

            - Body 2:
                            - start with linkers (e.g On the other hand, furthermore, in addition, etc.)
                                Note: Learn the use of "On the contrary", "Conversely" for contradicting ideas
                            - you present your second idea next (as written in thesis statement)
                            - explain your ideas further
                            - use linkers to connect ideas within the paragraph as well
                            - cite examples

            - Conclusion:
                            - To sum up
                            - To conclude
                            - In conclusion
                            - wrap up your ideas and opinion to give a clear conclusion.
                               DO NOT introduce any new ideas.

Note:
    ** Try to avoid inserting your brand new and awesome ideas in the middle of the essay without proper introduction. This will affect your Coherence.**
